The Foundation Donates $5,000 to Maine Township Food Pantry

The Des Plaines Community Foundation presented Maine Township Emergency Food Pantry with an early holiday gift of $5,000 on November 22nd at the Maine Township board meeting in Park Ridge.

The $5,000 check was presented by Rosemary Argus, executive director of the Des Plaines Community Foundation, and Des Plaines Mayor Martin J. Moylan.

United Airlines Foundation Presents a Check to the Des Plaines Community Foundation

Robert Argus, senior manager, United Airlines presented the Des Plaines Community Foundation with a check for $1000 from the United Airlines Foundation at a recent Board of Trustees meeting on January 11, 2012.

Robert Argus was granted this check from United because of more than 150 hours of volunteer work he provided with the Neighbors Helping Neighbors program of the Des Plaines Community Foundation.

The Des Plaines Community Foundation Donates $10,000 to the Des Plaines Self Help Closet & Pantry

The Des Plaines Self Help Closet & Pantry (SHC&P), 600 E. Algonquin Road, was the recent recipient of a $10,000 donation from the Des Plaines Community Foundation, a Des Plaines based not-for-profit agency that provides support for youth, senior citizens and people with special needs and helps promote a healthy and safe community environment.

The check presentation took place in Mayor Martin J. Moylan’s City Hall Office last week and included officials from the City, the SHC&P and the Des Plaines Community Foundation.
